Warberries is considered to be one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in Torquay. Constructed Circa 1860, the home itself is a stunning Victorian grade II listed building with a very intriguing history.

Warberries is conveniently located just a a stones throw away from all of the shops, amenities and seaside charm that Torquay has to offer. Our home has a private garden with a sun terrace and outdoor seating for residents and families to enjoy.

The spacious en-suite rooms have comfortable seating and remote control flat screen televisions, in addition to electric profiling beds and a 24 hour nurse call system.

Our staff  are passionate about providing high quality care and a personal, friendly atmosphere where both residents and staff are valued as individuals and supported to achieve their potential. Our staff team receive regular training and care assistants are qualified as a minimum to Care Certificate standard, with many staff holding level 2 and level 3 diplomas in health and social care. Personal development is held in high regard, and staff are supported to learn new skills, be creative and contribute to the development of the service.

Meals are freshly prepared by our chefs and residents are offered a choice at each meal time, with personal preferences and individual dietary needs catered for. Great care is taken to present puree food in creative and appetising ways in order to stimulate appetite and maintain our residents’ dignity. Meals can be taken in our beautiful dining room, our communal spaces or in the comfort of our residents own room. Drinks and snacks are freely available throughout the day and residents are able to order ‘off menu’ at any time – fancy a sandwich at 3am? No problem!

Our activities provision, led by a Montessori trained co-ordinator, supports our residents to continue their personal hobbies and interests and maintain their skills. Daily activities might include working in the garden, washing the dishes, painting, playing the piano or spending time completing a crossword. Group activities are frequent with visiting musicians, animals, parties, themed afternoons and theatre shows. We are passionate about intergenerational work, the arts and music. Pre-school children are regular visitors to our Home and we work closely with local childminders to develop intergenerational sessions that bring life into the Home and enable our residents to interact with children and build meaningful relationships.
